On behalf of our client, the largest independent developer of wind power generation, we are looking for a:
Head Accountant
Location: Bucharest
Reports to: Country Manager
Responsibilities:
• Ensuring the successfully implementation and effective use of Sage 500.
• Full control of the central reporting and budgeting system.
• Budgeting and expense analysis.
• Understanding the business and gathering and reporting commentary on a monthly basis.
• Preparation of statutory and management accounts.
• Ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
• Managing and liaising with Constanta offices improving their controls and reporting.
• Full responsibility for VAT and CT calculation and all other compliance reporting.
• Responsible for coordinating the local audits with KPMG.
• Supporting the Country Manager on ad hoc projects.
• Responsible for management of a small finance team.
• Ensure training and development needs of the finance team.
• Re-structure the business processes of the finance function.
• Creating new procedures and internal control framework.
• Engagement in company-wide specific projects (note: this may involve non-Romanian entities).
Requirements:
• Previous experience of working in/ for a multinational company/ subsidiary of an international group. The candidate should understand the type of reporting that is expected.
• Qualified accountant with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Strong technical and tax skills are essential. Financial/professional services and system implementation experience is an advantage.
• First rate English skills.
• Good Excel skills are pre requisite.
• Pro-active attitude, hard working approach and a high sense of responsibility is necessary.
• Tact, diplomacy and strong interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
